Ha, traffic! What would you do without it? It’s the lifeblood of every (internet) business.
What can be more important for your business than the ability to attract (targeted) traffic?
Building an optin list, you say?
Well all right, but how are you going to build that list? You need traffic to your squeeze page. Sooner or later, traffic always comes in every equation for success on the internet.
If you have deep pockets, you can open an Adwords account and pay for traffic. I don’t say that this can not work. It sure can, but bear in mind that it can become a very costly option, too. Off course, the bottom line whether your Adwords campaigns are profitable or not. But you first have to have the budget to invest. As an example, suppose that your ads, your sales copy and the quality of your product are so good that in the end, you can earn your initial investment back two or three times. Would you be ready to spend $1 per click in this case? Of course you would! But you must be able to afford it in the first place. If your monthly budget is only $500, you don’t go very far with that.
Do not buy bulk traffic. I know that it can be tempting. But trust me, it does NOT work. I’ve tried it a couple of times and I never had any results worth mentioning with it. I even tried it to build my list. I sent the traffic to my squeeze page, where I offered a free e-book. I had two subscribers on 10,000 clicks. Have I said enough?
Okay, so the other option would be search engine optimization.
Do you need to be a genius to become good at it? It certainly helps. You’ll have to work hard and be willing to learn a lot, that’s for sure. But let me assure you that there are small things too that you can do and that still have a great impact.
